Job Title: Small Engine Mechanic (Chainsaw & Lawn Equipment Specialist)

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Small Engine Mechanic specializing in two-stroke and four-stroke outdoor power equipment. In this role, you will diagnose, service, and repair a wide variety of equipment, with a primary focus on chainsaws, push mowers, zero-turn riders, trimmers, and blowers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics & Repair: Perform complete electrical, mechanical, and fuel system diagnostics on small engines to identify faults accurately.
- Maintenance & Overhauls: Complete routine maintenance (tune-ups, blade sharpening, oil changes) and major engine rebuilds or carb overhauls on 2-stroke and 4-stroke machinery.
- Chainsaw Specialty Work: Rebuild top/bottom ends, tune carburetors, service bar/chain assemblies, and test safety brake systems.
- Customer & Parts Coordination: Document service work orders clearly, estimate repair costs/labor hours, and communicate parts needs to the inventory manager.
- Shop Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to proper safety guidelines for shop tools and fluid disposal.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience repairing small engines and outdoor power equipment (OPE).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of carburetors, ignition systems, hydraulic drives, fuel injection systems, and centrifugal clutches.
- Tools: Possession of basic hand tools and pneumatic/electric shop tools (specialized shop tools provided).
- Problem Solving: Ability to read schematics, parts diagrams, and service manuals.
- Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and stand for long stretches during shifts.
