At Mr. Tree Inc., we pride ourselves on keeping our fleet running smoothly. We are a Tree Care and logging company local to Happy Valley and the surrounding areas, looking for a highly skilled and reliable heavy-duty truck and Equipment Mechanic to join our team.
The Role:
We are seeking a versatile mechanic who is just as comfortable turning wrenches in the shop as they are troubleshooting in the dirt. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of our heavy trucks and heavy equipment. A portion of your time will be spent operating out of our fully equipped mobile service truck to perform on-site repairs and emergency service calls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose, rebuild, and repair heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dozers, etc.) and heavy-duty trucks (diesel engines, transmissions, differentials).
- Field Service: Operate a company-provided mobile service truck to travel to job sites for preventative maintenance and emergency breakdowns.
- System Maintenance: Perform complex repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, as well as air brakes and emission systems.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine PMs and DOT inspections on trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all maintenance and repairs performed using our work order system.
- Safety: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and environmental regulations, keeping the shop and service truck clean and organized.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of [3-5] years of experience working as a mechanic on heavy-duty diesel trucks and heavy construction equipment.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and computer diagnostics.
